Okay Shigg, this in 2021 is called “Aki no Hojun” and it ain’t THAT bad - or at least so I thought.
Because, it does pour nice with a decent amount of head, it does smell like yeast (unlike most of your Japanese beer) and it does taste okay, nothing foul, nothing quirky (like most of your Japanese beer.)
But then there’s nothing really to write hone about either. It is good but it’s not an A or a B+ or I might even want to say it’s not even a B either, rather a strong C+… it does drink alright but it takes a lot more to rock my word.
And oh, if this was really supposed to be an Amber (btw I love it how they “hide” what these beers are really supposed to be and tend not to classify them in Japan and you are left to wonder that the heck this is supposed to be?) then I’d have to reevaluate it to something lower - but let me give it the benefit of the doubt and say it ain’t an amber, it’s just a “kaoru ale…”
Well, whatever. Today felt like a day in fall, first time in the middle of October, still above 30 degrees, nice.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
