A very pretty packaging design from suntory and its such a shame that I couldn't upload it due to the tedious process of resizing etc. Pour out perfectly on a pint glass with little head that dissolve quickly. Smells slightly lighter compare with most IPA. Taste is not bad but not balanced IMHO. The bitterness doesn't blend in well with the overall. Good IPA but not great.

It seems like I’m the only one adding these Tokyo Craft beers. Last time I had one of these I decided I won’t buy them again but since I haven’t had an IPA in ages, I fell for this Limited Edition one.
So it is their annual IPA, this time they came up with it for the winter and it claims to have been made with Citra and 5 other kind of hops. Now what I can tell you for sure is that it’s been brewed by a major commercial player on the market so you shouldn’t expect the same feeling as you are used to from all those craft brews. Although I must say that it is pretty decent, it smells kind of nice, with some citrusy thing in the aroma but it is rather reserved when compared with a full fledged IPA brewed in the US.
Same with the flavor I guess, you get some of the Citra quite up in your face to an extent that you might even remember this taste from somewhere else, but you don’t get the fun started, it just takes you there and tells you “hey this is where the real fun begins but you’re getting off here...”
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad at all, on the contrary it is quite good for a commercial brewery. You get some hop bitterness once the beer warms up but it is very well-groomed, well-dressed, well-behaved as expected from a Japanese IPA.
Like I said, I haven’t had an IPA in a long time and I feel still being left keep wanting one.
