I had this at the Toronto beer festival, it was my favorite beer there for sure. It pours a somewhat hazy bronze color with a foamy eggshell head. The haze is probably from the fact that this beer was randalized through several pounds of leaf hops (sweeeet!). The aroma is of sticky, pungent hops, with lots of pine, tropical fruit, and bready malt. The taste is extremely hoppy with intense layers of hop aroma and bitterness emerging with time. Grapefruit and pine resin are most noticeable. The malt backbone is bready and firm, not invisible like some IPAs this hoppy. The mouthfeel is incredible. Very light in carbonation and filled with hop oils that it coat my mouth and teeth. Its like this beer has been saturated with hops.

This is one hell of an IPA, I wish it was available all year round. Its only brewed for festivals and is slightly different each year. This year it weighed in at 7.5 ABV and over 100 IBUs. Chinook hops are used, I forget the others.

Brewed specifically for the Friday August 6th session of the Toronto Festival of Beer....and probably never again.

Appearance: served by hand-pump this beer poured very brown and suprisingly with quite a bit of head. nonetheless, it looked great.

Smell: what else can be said about the nose on this one....super big and hoppy! tons of floral notes. did i mention hoppy? 100 IBU by the way.

Taste/Mouthfeel: it may sound one dimensional but again, the hoppiness took over right away. a very smooth and light mouthfeel and a bitter hop finish. mid body there were some light fruity notes that added only a hint of sweetness to the beer. overall, smooth, light and wonderfully hoppy! my favorite of the fest.

Drinkablility: this beer is for a hop-head. non hop heads will probably find this one a little to extreme. but for myself, it was a great beer that i returned to 3 or 4 times throughout the afternoon. great stuff.
