Very dark brown, clear, with ruby highlights and served with no head. Burnt aroma with some roast, vanilla and a bit of alcohol. Hints of nuts and dates appeared briefly throughout. Sweet caramel and vanilla, buttery, with a bitter, burnt finish. Very low carbonation, medium bodied, with dryness from the dark grain. An interesting entry into the Volo Cask Situation.

Dark with amber highlights, bit of a head. Roasty aroma. Lots of roasted barley, in blind taste of casks at Bar Volo. Appropriately understated hops, kind of old fashioned by not being hopped up. Tasty malts but bitter finish, Light clean mouthfeel and quite drinkable.
