sampled on cask as part of the volo cask days 2006. thanks to ralph and all involved for putting together an awesome fest.
pilot batch for this years tsarina katarina. perry put cinnamon in this one, but said the final version likely won't end up with it.
pours an opaque deep black colour with a thick dark brown head.
awesome aroma. malty and roasty. cinnamon. burnt chocolate and caramel. lingering sweetness.
nice chocolatey taste with loads of cinnamon. slightly sweet. sweet bready cake-like malt. tastes like dessert. excellent. actually noticed the cinnamon coming out more with a second sample i had late in the day.
mouthfeel is great. nice thick body and great carbonation level.
drinkability is awesome. this is certainly something i could drink every day.

Template for 2006 of RIS with lots of cinammon, that worked great on cask at Volo Cask Day 2006. Dark brown and giant bubbles. Cinammon starts out at you, seperated by coconut like material and then warms up the mouth as cinammon can do. I think a higher ABV as well in this year's edition. Reminded me of Pannepot only more interesting.
