Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a dark red/brown color. Thin white cap of a head. Stringy lace. The aroma takes in a mild amount of earthy to rustic Belgian spices coating a fair amount of bready/yeasty flavors. Some sweet cake. Light milk chocolate. Some vinous quality as it warms. The flavor leans mildly sweet through the cake and bready/yeasty aromas. Belgian spices try to make an effort to balance with an eleoquent use of that dry vinous quality. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. That vinous quality seems to punch a little bit of boozy sting to my tongue. But then the bready/yeasty to cake sticky clingy-ness allows somewhat of a balance. Overall, weird dubbel, if anything, it’s alright for what it is.

I see that this beer hasn't been reviewed in over 3 years.
Pours a dark reddish-brown color with a one-finger head. Aroma is sweet and malty with raisin standing out. Slightly alcoholic as well. Taste is sweet and malty with again, raisin and also date flavors. It goes down pretty smooth but feels somewhat thin as well. Definitely a sipping beer and not too far from what the style should be. Not as overpowering as the Magic Hat version of this style.

Served a dark brown with a small tan head. Slightly fruitish with a sweet malt bite. Mildly well balanced and very smooth. An easy to drink beer, but nothing out of this world. Only served in 12oz glasses, so I'm thinking this is supposed to be potent. A lightly bitter sensation helps hide potency.

Semi-hazy golden/amber beer. Highly carbonated with a massive white, foamy head that sticks and retains. Nose contains light fruit, paper, metallic and yeast. Fizzy, sharp seltzer carbonation bite. Alcohol, caramel, some background plum fruity sweetness. Light bitterness shifts in a yeasty finish.
An okay beer, but way too carbonated. Came in a 12oz bottle.
