The stout that I had was the extra stout. I'll assume we are talking about the same thing here. The beer was inky black, fairly light in body, with a nutty and roasted aroma, some head, a bit of lace around the edges. This was an easy beer to drink. It was roasted with a touch of sweetness. The dark chocolate malts, the crystal malts, roasted notes made this a pretty nice beer. A bit thin, but a nice beer nevertheless.

Poured black with a thin tan head. Loads of creamy lacing stick to glass.
The smell is of soft dark malt - coffee notes emerge nicely as it warms.
The taste is of dark malt - coffee and chocolate with a touch of smoke. Not overly sweet despite solid malt profile. Slightly tinny in the dry finish.
Medium- bodied and smooth. A "sessionable" stout, for sure.

Poured a deep black hue with a one and a half finger creamy off white head. There was good retention and sticky lacing.
The smell featured burnt grain and coffee elements with some flowery hop.
The taste consisted of an upfront burnt grain with coffee and smoke elements. Some dark chocolate presented itself as well.
The moutfeel was rather full with a dry finish.
Overall a very nice example of the style. Very drinkable.
