Poured off the tap (thanks Monique!) with a beige head about two fingers thick. Nice lacing and moderate retention. Very dark black/brown and nearly opaque. Aromas were roasted malts, espresso and some nuts. The flavors were rich and deep, chocolate malt, coffee, roasted malts and some hoppy bitterness in the middle. Long and dry coffee finish coats the tongue. Full bodied and lightly carbonated as per the style. Drinkable and filling. Not an incredible stout but a good example of the style and a fine brew to help ease one through the dark and cold Vermont winters.
