As with other Oregon Trader ales, Hoppy Trails is visually appealing while otherwise lacking much by way of head or lace. OT brews as a whole can be characterized as luminous and clouded, in this instance with a warm leather color.
Oddly enough, Oregon Trader does not brew a pale ale year round and Hoppy Trails is offered only as a summer seasonal. It has a light malty / grainy aroma and modest malty flavor with sensible bitterness. An all around satisfactory and companionable brew.
