Appearance: Very dark with a good head that is lighter brown like a good maple stain. The head is persistent and remains throughout.
Smell: Definite toastyness, but less so than I had imagined. I am not sure if I smell too much hops, but malt is there and sweet and dark.
Taste: Well, I don't know if toasty is quite right. I taste more of a light braising, almost into a browning of the grains. If I didn't know better, I might think there's some coffe in here too. There is some bitter chocolate and something else I just can't quite describe that hide in there too, but they are negligible and mostly covered up by the "toasty" flavor the creators tried to impart. As far as oak goes, I am not sure, but the flavor I taste in the background might be the remnants of what was once oak. Overall not bad. I tend to like darker beers and this one definitely fits into that profile.
Mouthfeel: Slightly thicker than most, but about as carbonated as I would ever want a stout to be. Too much more and it would have a very acidic effect on the palate. Very full feeling and coats the mouth.
Drinkability: This is no session beer. Two or so is about all I would have in a sitting, one if I was planning on using my tastebuds later on that night. ;-)
Overall I like this beer as it has character, something a lot of brewers are afraid of.

I might have initially identified this as a porter, but I wont argue semantics and I can't complain either way. The Toasty Oaky Stout (with the hokey pokey name) has a light toasty aroma, a full toasty flavor, and a satisfying smoky aftertaste with a long decay. The dry porterish taste betrays a hint of mint.
There is cream in the taste though not the mouthfeel. This might account for some of the beers more porterish properties. But the overall flavor profile is complex and solid notwithstanding any stylistic comparisons. An opaque body, thin head, and thready wraparound lace define the expected visual presentation.
Though the name makes me cringe, Toasty Oaky Stout holds together well and makes for a fine pint of ale.
