sampled from a pint at the brewpub. Dark brown beer with a small off white head, that dissapears fast. The aroma is quite pleasant, chocolaty malts ,slightly roasty. Quite a good tasting porter, the "roastyness" is more apparent in the taste than in the aroma, quite malty. Nice and smooth on the palate. Overall very drinkable , a nice porter.

The initial taste of this Oregon porter emulates its dry roasty aroma. But the agreeable primary flavor soon drops to a most regrettable finish. It is a visually appealing brew that approaches blackness with deep brown shadowing. A scant head of tan foam forms an impressive wraparound lace that runs deep along the glass and retains well.
But this porter fails the pint by growing flat fast and crashing into a convoluted and strained finish. Though the aftertaste has a few notes of appealing smoke, the flavor as a whole is lifeless and regrettable.
From my notes describing the taste: the word OUCH in uppercase letters.
