Served on nitro at Taps in Petaluma. I remember wondering who the hell Ruth McGowan was. I didn't take notes, but I remember this being just about the best damn Dry Stout I've tasted.
Very rich body, avoiding the thin body of most dry stouts that I don't like as well as the sweetness that some examples have. Little to no hop character, in keeping with the style.
Drinking this beer was like downing a big, rich, cold, alcoholic glass of pure espresso. Tops my previous craft dry stout, Russian River's OVL stout.

On draft at Taps, Petaluma, CA.
Poured a black hue with lively amber streaking and a three finger frothy off white head. There was very good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a roasted barley and a lactose sweetness.
The taste was likewise primarily dry roasted malt with a secondary touch of sweetness. Good residual roastiness.
The mouthfeel was full for the style.
Overall a nicely made and very tasty stout.
