Blurry amber rust crowned in large-bubbled beige.
Fragrant of candy-sweet black grapes, toasted caramel, honey, and cloves.
Begins with moist toffee maltiness that quicky morphs into roasted almonds and cocoa. That too is short lived, as it is briskly swept up into a raisin bread doughiness, then on towards more fully realized fruits via grapes and bruised bananas. And it stays here for a good long while. Wafts of cloves gradually drift in, giving it a decided dunkelweizen flair. Turns gently woody on the swallow, with a impression of honeyed maple logs. Hops add traces of rosey, floral bitterness, and provide a crucial piece of conterweight to keep this from veering oversweet.
Shy of medium bodied with gentle carbonation.
Just like Angelic's other belgian styles, this is a keeper.
