On tap at 38 Degrees in Alhambra, CA.
Pours a hazy dark orange-red with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with malt, wood, and bourbon aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour toast, caramel, fruit, bourbon, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an odd slight sourness that actually works somewhat well with the aromas and flavors.
Serving type: on tap.
