Enjoyed in a tulip at Flanny's. This is Hopsickle that’s been brewed with wet hops and aged with oak.
Perfectly clear shiny copper. The light sand-colored head is thin, sticky, and leaves thin fingers of lace.
Nose is packed with bright citrus. I get tons of orange and grapefruit peel. Burnt sugar, sticky alcohol, a hint of toasted bread and just a bit of vinous oak are also noticeable.
Much more oak in the flavor. Pithy citrus peel washes the mouth in bitterness — it tastes like an orange grove. Some sweet caramel, burnt sugar and soft biscuits emerge. Mildly sweet finish, tons of bitterness. The toasted biscuit finish becomes.more noticeable as it warms.
Syrupy, sugary medium body. Moderate pinching carbonation breaks into a good bit of fizz. As stated before, there’s a burly amount of bitterness and a good bit of boozy heat.
Like the regular Hopsickle, this one’s a hop delivery engine. It’s like drinking juiced hops. So bitter, but so flavorful.

Sampled at the 5th Annual West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Festival. Poured into a tulip. Reviewed from notes.
Description reads as follows: "This barrel encapsulated the famous Girard Chardonnay for four years prior to its arrival at Moylan's. Fresh "Santa Rosa", organic handpicked wet hops from Lake County, California were used to brew and condition the unfiltered Hopsickle Imperial XXXIPA that was racked into this magnificent Sonoma County barrel."
A: Served a hazy golden tea color with a thin cream colored head that left patches of lacing.
S: Dank leafy tea/marijuana/tobacco notes fill my nose. Very fresh, green and leafy smelling. Potent would be a good word.
T: Follows the nose with an epically leafy green fresh hop taste that reminds me of walking into the hop room on a brewery tour. Notes of tobacco in the aftertaste. No malt to be found as expected, but unexpectedly there is no note of the chardonnay barrel that I can detect.
M: Alcohol is completely masked in the sticky medium-full body. This beer is exceptionally bitter and mouth numbing.
D: Overall I found this very similar to a fresh bottle of normal Hopsickle. Barrel didn't come through much, but it would be interesting to do a side by side with the original. This is one leafy and fresh tasting beer though, and a very drinkable DIPA.

I was told that this beer won out as the most hopped beer in the line up. Well it's hoppy for sure. As it warms up you can appreciate the flavors it offers.
Can't wait for the quad. Where is going to end. Doesn't the avg. human as a limit on the IBU's it can detect?

Exceptional beer! It has a very deep, hoppy taste. I continued to taste the hops several seconds after drinking it. The smell is great- very strong hoppy scent. It has a very nice white, foamy head. Taste is slightly on the piney side but there is plenty of malty goodness. It doesn't leave as much of a bitter aftertaste that many other IPAs do. I highly recommend it!

A - Burnt orange, dark amber-copperish. Great off-white head that lingers forever. Smoothly laced and looks as if its begging you to drink it.
S - Lots of citrusy grapefruit and slight piney smell up front. As the glass is taken away there is a faint yet sweet smell of chocolate/toffee.
T - Hops hops hops and lots of them. I taste a little grapefruit. A good amount of alcohol flavor/burn with the finish. Crispish finish as well.
M - Silkly smooth. High carbonation tingle on the tongue. The alcohol sensation lasts for quite some time after.
D - Its quite hoppy and the alcohol content is prevalent. I would drink again but this is definitely a one bottle per night brew.

Its great to see this in my local area, man Bestway rocks!Poured into a imperial nonic hazed burnt orange with a great one finger crown atop,it never completely settles just a healthy creamy froth is left behind. Not boozy in the nose wich is becoming to prevelent for the style, this is just fresh complex hop, pine, citrus, overripe pineapple, and apricot hop notes with a tinge of caramel malt to let ya know its there.Again on the palate its not "hot" just big fresh hops, somewhat resiny with citric and apricot note with just a little caramel-like sweetness in the finish.Great hop complexity and quaffable as all get out for the style,a new top ten for me

Poured a slight amber/orange color with white head and tight lacing in the glass. Very pronounced pine and citrus notes in the smell and taste. Well balanced and highly drinkable. My first beer from Moylan's and I'm looking forward to another one. Reminds me a good bit of SN Torpedo.

A: The pour is a dark copper color with a fluffy white head.
S: The nose is as you would expect: lots of citrus and piney hops, with some light malt as well.
T: Very hoppy, as you would expect. Like the nose, there is a lot of citrus and pine and bitterness.
M: This one has a fairly smooth mouthfeel to it that I wasn't expecting. Full carbonation leaves a tingling feeling on the tongue.
D: While I'm normally one for hop-bombs, this one just didn't necessarily seem all together.

A- Beautiful copper color and crystal clear. Nice off white foam that presents nice lace which clings to the glass.
S- Wow. Bananas, carmelized sugar, figs, plums, a waft of piney hops. I think I may need to pour another just to see what else comes out.
T- This may be my new favorite beer. Hops everywhere on the tongue, with a little of that carmelized sugar and piney finish. Takes you just to the edge of hops overwhelm, without actually overwhelming.
M- Hoppy oil gives it a nice, viscous feel.
D- I could drink this all day, but a little too much alchol present to turn this into more than a few.

This one pours a hazy orange with an aroma to match. The citrus is definitely there... I can smell it while pouring the bottle before I even lift the glass to my nose... but I get more orange than grapefruit. A great chewy hoppy assault on the tastebuds, but this is where is all falls apart. The hops are too much here and without balance, and the aftertaste is strikingly bitter and harsh. For me, this one left my mouth a little too tingly for me to completely enjoy the over-hopped experience.

First off I loved it. A very much so over the top hop bomb of a beer. Ruination is a fraud by comparison, this brew will destroy taste buds. Pours beautifully, actually when you pop the top you get a punch in the nose. Drinking this one it's all hops, but it's surprisingly one sided yet tasty at the same time, probably no mean feat given the amount of hops they probably use in this brew. This one feels good in your mouth and slides down very nicely, a killer finish, When the hops die here you know it and feel it for 5 minutes after. Now the down side, drinkaibility = one bomber per person. I can't imagine drinking two. Second fault you cannot possibly switch brews after having one of these it would be impossible to taste anything. Drink this one last.
