Gravity halfpint at the London Drinker festival.
A: Clear gold body with a frothy white head. Light lace.
S: Highly spicy up front, with some lightly fruity hop aroma. Some lemon, some chalk, some biscuity malt. Ok.
T: Crazy, with a distinct Mexican-food-style spiciness on top of the herbal hops and biscuity malt. Clean, bitter finish. Weird, but not unpleasant.
M: Smooth, lightly carbonated cask feel. Good.
O: I looked this one up on the brewery's website before adding it, and apparently the spiciness I was getting was from both clove and grains of paradise. It made for an interesting twist on a blonde ale (I really wish there were a style category for English Blonde/Golden Ale), but I won't be actively seeking it out in the future.
Cheers!
