Thanks to nc41 for this one. I think this bottle is from the early 1980s, and was brewed by a previous incarnation of Stoney's Brewing. 12oz bottle poured into 14oz teku. Poured a surprisingly clean and clear dark amber color with no head. in fact there was minimal carbonation period, not a huge surprise, given the age.
The main olfactory aspect was green apple. No hop presence, and minimal malt. Pretty much the same on the tongue, with a slight touch of sourness on the finish. The body was smooth and light, and the finish was surprisingly clean. Drinkability was about what one would expect from a 40 year old bottle of beer that tastes like apples and has a sour finish. I finished it, but I don't want another.
Overall, another interesting antique store brew. if you see old beers in your antique shops, send 'em my way, and I'll tick 'em!
