Appearance: pours a black color with a 1/4" head. Some lace develops.
Smell: roasted malts and chocolate come through to the nose.
Taste: roasted malts, dark chocolate, a bit of vanilla bean, and some softer coffee tones. The flavor of maple syrup in this is not detectable but does adds some sweetness. Alcohol is slightly noticeable.
Mouthfeel: medium-heavy in body. Smooth from start to finish. Long lasting aftertaste,
Overall: a slow sipping stout that is satisfying and can be enjoyed in place of a dessert because of the sweetness.
