Pours a dark orange with little head. Smells quite hoppy and crisp, with lots of grain and citrus. The taste is quite bitter, almost asprin-like, and grainy again. A little one-dimensional, but pleasant enough. The mouthfeel is similar- a slightly heavy graininess and a brisk bitterness. I enjoyed it well enough, even if it was fairly simple.

Growler shared by kp at the Brick Store.
Pours a dark, slightly hazy orange with a very short-lived head that left no lace.
The aroma is dominated by light citrus hops, with oranges and lemons coming out in the nose. There is a hint of the caramel malt backbone but not much.
The taste has a fairly abrasive tart citrus bitterness up front that keeps the underlying caramel malts from coming out too much on the palate. The finish has the citrus and hints of floral hops that linger with a solid bitterness after each sip.
The mouthfeel is fairly sticky with hops and a low, soft carbonation that can probably be attributed to the growler.
This is a decent DIPA, but not one that I would highly recommend. The hops seemed to a be a little abrasive in the taste without having a big enough flavor profile to support it. That limits the drinkability slightly.

Pours a murky dark orange/brown with a small quickly dissipating white head. Smells only of C-hops with the aroma of a West Coast hop bomb. First sip hits you with close to biting hops - almost puckering. There is plenty of malt goodness to offset the massive hops. Slightly under carbonated - could be due to the growler.

Had from a growler courtesy of kp - much obliged!
From the brewery's website: Named after an Eastern Screech Owl. The Owl resides at the Raptor Trust in the Great Swamp. This beer has been dry-hopped with Columbus hops that add a spicy, citrus aroma and flavor to the beer. 8.0% abv
Pours a hazy copper color with a half-finger slightly off-white head. The head dissipates fairly quickly into a wispy layer on top leaving light lacing.
Smells of sticky grapefruit and floral hops with hints of the caramel malt backbone.
Tastes not quite as intense as the smell led me to believe. Sweet caramel malt flavors start things off and carry through until the end, followed by very light hints of grapefruit and ending with a mild bitterness. I wish they'd added more of the hops used for dry-hopping in during the boil.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with solid carbonation.
Drinkability is good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have a few more.
Overall this was a good beer, but if it tasted as good as it smelled it could have been a lot better.
