Pours into a 12 oz pint glass with a medium to semi dark brown. Little to no head. You can see through it when held up to the light. Ig this was cask I could excuse the lack of head retention, but not on draft.
Aromas are fairly straight-forward as well. Toasted breadiness, light semi dry baker's cocoa and lightly roasted coffee. Little to no hop character, maybe some light earthiness in the background, but just there to support the sweeter malt base.
The tastes directly follow the nose; toasted bread, light caramel and mild cocoa and coffee. Finish is meek and watery to be honest. This has the potential for something great but fell short here.
The mouthfeel is too watery, even for the style. It could greatly benefit from some flaked barley, oats or wheat to impart a greater mouthfeel. Low ABV doesn't have to be low in body.
Overall a decent beer to have with food, but nothing spectacular or worth sampling again in the future.
