From 11/29/13 notes. Had this on tap at One Mile House in NYC, leftover from their anniversary party I think. Served in a tulip.
a - Pours a dark mahogany brown color with one inch of medium tan head and low carbonation evident.
s - Smells of chocolate, bourbon, rye, toasted malts, vanilla, cream, roasted malts, earthy malts, and burnt malts. Nice mix of sweet bourbon and sweet chocolate up front, I really like it.
t - Tastes of bourbon, oak, sweet chocolate, roasted malts, toasted malts, light vanilla and cream, burnt malts, light cofee, earthy notes, ash, and light fruit. Little more bourbon than the nose.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. No heat, pretty creamy and easy to drink.
o - Overall I thought this beer was great; I've had a lot of Kelso's beers and I think this may be my favorite so far. I really wish I had written down what the ABV was because it definitely didn't feel too big or hot, which was great. The chocolate and bourbon are great throughout, I'm really hoping they make this one again sometime.
