The pairing of rhubarb and gose sounded right as it has a natural tart/sour flavor; and, when eaten raw, people usually put salt on it to bring out is sweetness.
A: Hazy lemon color, creamy head with some large froths of foams. No lacing and o.k. retention. I was hoping that they would have added a rhubarb syrup to the mix to give it a little red just to distinguish it, but it looks like your average gose.
S: Starts out neutral with some sour funk and earth coriander mixing well a light lilac vegetal smell. As the beer warms, the aroma becomes exponentially sweeter and dominated by plain rhubarb.
M: Light body but a tad sticky. Lactic creaminess. lower carbonation than wanted. Low astringent finish.
T/O: Tart rhubarb, lemon, grassy, grounded by a slight salt finish. As it warms I swear I could taste strawberry, and this reminds me more of a strawberry wheat ale. Not as refreshingly sour/salty as preferred, but I still wish I had a gallon of this for my hike yesterday.
