There is nothing like having scoured through the backlog here at Chez Woody! I uncovered CANs that were nearly forgotten & some that have demanded my immediate attention. The CANQuest (tm) is cooking along as a result!
From the CAN: "Intricately Crafted Simply Good Est Brooklyn 2006"; "4.4 SRM"; "Bright aromas of lemon and chamomile, with notes of clove and a floral Belgian style yeast"; "We started this Belgian style ale with healthy additions of lemon peel and chamomile flower, then rounded out with a proprietary yeast and some unmalted American White Wheat. Complex, fruity, yet refreshing and smooth. Simply good."; "That's KelSo BEER. Beer helps. How does beer help? Let Us Know …"
I happily Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I will CANfess to having done some in-CAN agitation beforehand to ensure that any flocculate was back in suspension. It came roaring up to form just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with decent retention. Color was a cloudy, murky Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose smelled like a spicy tea - lemon, undefined floweriness, mustiness, very Chai-like! Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was very mellow, very evocative of Chai tea with a lemony, flowery, musty aspect that added up to a very mellow drink. Drinking it late at night like this was enough to send me off to Dreamland! Zzzzz. Finish was dry, spicy & so mellow that I just had to quit. YMMV,

Refreshing summer Wit. Cloudy yellow orange with almost no head or lacing and faint indistinguishable aroma. Tasted Nice throughout- slightly sweet sour with a thirst-cutting carbonation.

Poured out of the can a straw yellow haze emerges. A relatively large bubbly head billows to the top, however, it soon disapates. An ultra thin ring of bubbles represents a vestige of the head, however, it soon recedes into nothingness.
A whiff of banana represents the first aroma detected. Soon the scent of coriander and orange peel emerge in typical Witbier fashion.
As with the aroma the first flavor detected is banana accompanied by a soft wheat malt feel. A spicy crispness from the coriander and carbonation begins to take over. The mouthfeel is medium to light with an orange peel finish.
Overall, fairly typical for a Witbier and a decent representation of the style.

On-tap at d.b.a. Brooklyn, Brooklyn, NY
A: The beer is very hazy dark yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down and left just a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of orange peels in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of wheat and orange peels. No spices are detectable.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a perfect selection for a hot summer day because it is easy to drink and has some refreshing properties.
