From 10/06/12 notes. Had this on tap at Brooklyn Pour; was very excited to try both Kelso beers, especially this one.
a - Pours a very dark brown color with a few light brown bubbles and light carbonation evident.
s - Smells of roasted malts, rye, wheat, toasted malts, bready malts, light chocolate, and light coffee. Really nice nose; the rye definitely comes through with the more traditional porter flavors.
t - Tastes of roasted malts, lightly sour, dough, bready malts, light chocolate, and toasted malts. Taste seemed a little off, almost a twinge of sourness, I'm guessing from the rye. Not bad at all, but different and not as good as the nose.
m - Light to medium body and low carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.
o - Overall a pretty cool idea and was glad to try it, though the taste was a little off/different than I was expecting. Glad to see them try something like this.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
