From 11/23/12 notes. Had this one on tap at the Pony Bar - Hell's Kitchen location in NYC. 8 oz. pour.
a - Pours a somewhat transparent golden color with one inch of white head and low to moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of apples, rye, brandy, fruity malts, light tropical fruits, light alcohol, floral hops. Pretty nice nose; tons of apples and fruit, and the rye comes through.
t - Tastes of apples, alcohol, fruity malts, lighter rye than the nose, floral hops, earthy notes, toasted malts. More alcohol coming through than in the nose; a slight step down for me.
m - Medium body and low to medium carbonation.
o - Overall an interesting and nice beer. Another cool beer from Kelso; I like to see them trying different things. The nose actually reminded me a little of Captain Lawrence's Golden Delicious as I got a lot of apple brandy, but the taste had a tiny bit too much alcohol. Worth checking out if you like their stuff.
