The world around us is continually changing and presenting challenges. This inspired us to explore new approaches to crafting beer, outside of what we’ve always known.
Using a technique called Biotransformation, we achieve a unique, more aromatic signature. This dry hopped process offers the yeast a chance to further enhance flavors of the hop profile, by adding hops during active fermentation. Vic Secret, Mosaic, and Citra hops harmonize to create a tropical character.
The New Abnormal is our peak into the future without sacrificing what’s familiar- making a great beer.

River Horse Brewing Co. "The New Abnormal"
16 fl. oz. can "PACKAGED: 05/18/22" and sampled on 10/03/22
$3.49 @ Total Winw & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a cloudy golden-orange body beneath a finger's width of creamy off-white foam. The aroma is both malty and hoppy. It's citrusy, bready, tropical with pineapple and passionfruit, and piney. Is this a double IPA? It's not labeled as such but it seems to be and it is 7.8% ABV. On to the taste... it tastes like a double IPA. It's not only citrusy and tropical, there's also a very nice berry note to it. The malt is pretty solid, and remains bready and wheaty. A stiff bitterness keeps the malt in check and leads to a mainly dry finish with pine, earth, and herbs lingering once the fruitiness and malt passes. In the mouth it's medium-full in body and gently crisp then smooth. The head has held up well and there are lrings of lace embedded in the torn sheets that wrap around the glass. Nicely done.

You know, this is really good! Haven’t had River Horse in a long while. Not a sexy NJ brewery anymore. Saw it at Wegmans and a six pack of 16 oz cans only $13. Gave it a try. Cloudy orange IPA with Vic Secret, Mosaic and Citra. Candy aroma, but the taste is more piney and bitter citrus, not the overly sweet NE IPA taste that some beers in the style have. Very smooth and tasty. Glad I took a chance.
