i was so surprised by this, i expected only their familiar and somewhat generic beers when we visited their new brewery in the highlands, but there was some ambitious and some new stuff on the menu, and the quality of this one really blew me away, maybe because i started with only moderate expectations, but this really did blow me away, to the tune of it being one of the best wheat beers i have had this year! its glowing yellow in the glass, softly hazy like a hefeweizen, and has a rich lathery white head. it smells a little estery, but this isnt a german or a belgian wheat in the traditional sense, floral, full of honey character, and a fresh, full flavored pale wheat complexion that really is front and center. fluffy feeling, light for having some body, huge carbonation, a bit of sweetness carrying it along, i dont mind it at all, light orange and white grape notes, spices like white pepper and even caraway or something in here, kind of earthy and drying, i love it with the wheat and the sweet. the feel is perfect and the flavors are great, a really unexpected treat, i crave another one as i write this, and i will assuredly be back for more of this "egyptian wheat" as they call it, definitely the best oasis beer i have ever had!
