A really small white head quickly dissipates into a very thin lacing above a clear pale straw golden colored beer.
A light lemony citrus aroma that has a distinct light hops to it.
Light lemony citrus with a slight hops bitterness coming through in a light taste.
A very light bitter tint on a dry aftertaste with this light bodied beer.
A really light tasting beer without the yukky aftertaste of beers like Bud Light, etc.

James Page White Ox Wheat Ale
Average dark yellow and nice cloudiness.
Apricot and peach aroma, with a mild peppery herb essence. Nice and light. Wheat malt.
Easy on the palate. Clean and crisp, peppery aftertaste.
A little watery, but very drinkable.
---
Re-review:
Pours cloudy blonde with medium size bubbles in the white frothy head.
Sweet, fruity, light orange, light citrus.
Highly drinkable with great carbonation
Flavors are subtle.
Great beer that would pair with just about anything in the spring/summer months.
Incredible value. Local. No change in grade.

Saw this for the first time in KC, so I decided to pick up a bottle in a mix a six. Poured a 12oz bottle into my Dogfish Head snifter. This beer pours a **slightly** hazy straw with a meager 2 inch head that turned into nothing. No lacing, no retention. Kind of ugly. The aroma is, well, watery with a slight bit of wheat malt and just a meager hint of banana. The flavor is mostly the same. Just really average. Nothing particularly overwhelming or underwhelming. Just middle of the road. No hops are discernible in the profile. The mouthfeel is light and finish with just a hint of sweetness. This maybe the most mediocre beer I've ever had. Definitely would be in the top 10.

A - Poured out a somewhat cloudy, very bubbly, straw yellow color with a two-finger, white head with a good deal of tiny bubbles. Little to no lacing.
S - It smelled of citrus, wheat and some yeast. Not much else.
T - It tasted of lemon and wheat. Somewhat sweet with no bitterness or any hop presence.
M - This one is pretty thin and a touch watery. A very light bodied brew.
D - This is a work in progress. It was dull and bland.

This brew pours a hazy lemon yellow into my sample glass, thick and rich white head appears and has some staying power. The head also leaves behind thin lace rings on the way down. Lots of yeasties on the bottle bottom.
Subtle aromas of wheat malt with tibbits of banana and clove - and I mean way in the background. The malt is the key player here and shows up well in the quaff. Tasty wheat ale, this would work well in the summer heat, and is enjoyable even in the middle of winter. Very good session beer.
Wish the label had a bottling date, so I could see how fresh is this brew.
Don't know why some reviews bash this brew, it's a pale wheat ale and not some hammerhead barley or DIPA. Review to style.

Pours a cloudy, maize color. 1/6 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of wheat, yeast, slight pale hop, and a hint of clove. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carobnation level. Tastes of wheat, yeast, slight hop, slight citrus, and slight spice. Overall, a good body and blend.

12oz bottle into a fluted tasting glass.
Hazy yellow, white head
Nose is faint. Mustiness covering some apple and orange citrus, and a lactic touch and subtle corinander.
Taste is weak and thin, not inspiring in the slightest.
This one might put the fire out on some hot wings, but other than that...

Poureed into a chilled pint glass.
It's a cloudy, straw-yellow with a fluffy white head.
She smells of cereal and wheat malt with a touch of spice (orange?cloves?).
Tastes like that too with light and sweet hue that is overall fairly dry.
Wouldn't get this one on purpose again, but if someone offered either this or a glass of wine to me, only then would I go for this brew again, but it is pretty banal and boring.

Poured into a pint glass.
A-Pale white head, low retention to nearly nothing. Slightly hazy golden-straw beer; not as hazed as most unfiltered wheat beers.
S-Wheat malts, crisp, with a hint of watered-down citrus. Aroma is overall pretty weak.
T-Cloves, wheaty malt, sweet breads. Citrus is remarkably absent. Tastes too thin, unbalanced toward the sweet side. Tastes grainy, feels grainy. Finshes somewhat sweet with the week puckering dryness.
M-Flabby medium-light body with medium carbonation, too low of level for the style. Lacking the umph and pizazz in the feel that a wheat beer needs.
D-Low, in that it's relatively boring and a poor representation of the style. Still, I have found myself enjoying this beer while cruising a lake on a pontoon. That's pretty much what this one is good for.

Pours a hazy, pale yellow with a large white head that had good retention. Heavy lacing is left on the glass. The smell consists of a light lemon aroma and wheat malt. The flavor is straight on American Wheat Ale. Very boring. Just a hint of citrus is detected besides the malt. No signs of anything coming from the yeast. The body is light and the carbonation is good for the style. With so many better wheat ales and hefe's out there today, this one can easily be bypassed.

Light in color close to white and fluorescent green more than gold. Light prickle and sparkling head. Neutral malt nose. Sour notes to the attack but a clean flavor. The beer gives a poor first impression on the palate. Effervescent type of mouthfeel and a clean finish as far as the flavor is concerned but there is some residual "alka-seltzer" like bubbliness. I would call this a C-.

James Page White Ox Wheat Ale pours a big stiff head over a slightly cloudy
yellow brew. Carbonation is active, the nose is wheat and a whiff of citus. The
flavor is slightly sweet wheat and not a whole lot of anything else- maybe a note
of lemon. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth but light. There is a bit of lemon in the after
taste. Pretty much a standard American Wheat Ale. In this case the brewer elected
to use a neutral American Ale yeast strain and it shows- there's none of the bananna,
clove, or bubblegum notes you can get with a Belgian or German yeast strain. I guess
I can understand the rationale- a neutral flavor for American tastes- but there are just so
damn many beers on the market just like this one. James Page, of course, is contract
brewed at the Steven's Point Brewery, who brew a wheat beer of their own. It would be
interesting to have done a comparison, but chances are it's pretty similar. This beer is
refreshing enough, it just doesn't really distinguish itself.
