This is a curious brew. Its slightly cloudy (im talking SLIGHTLY) body is topped by a little white head. The smell of this drink is a mixture of fruits. As for the taste, its a very sweet drink, with various citrus flavors coming out on top. A bit unusual tasting, but not necessarily bad. Worth trying, and refreshing on a hot day.

Thirsty, I reached blindly into the fridge, grabbed a bottle, popped the top, and poured it into a pint glass, giving little thought to what it was, but thinking it was a hefe weizen. As I finished it, I mused that it must've been a mighty weak weizen, with little hefe and scant wheat texture...then I noticed the bottle, and read the label...partial wheat malts...not far off the mark...interesting...
So, the beer...appearance:slightly hazy, orange/amber color, short, disappearing head.
Aroma:very sweet and fruity, sugary, a distinctive character, with orange chief at first, and banana gaining prominence later on. I kept my nose in this one for a while, very nice.
On the palate, though, the sugary sweetness goes a bit too far, and comes close to cloying. Extraordinarily light in every respect, and an ideal summer slammer. Banana/clove aspects peep up, but never fully form...it's like a half-born hefe weizen. Lacking quite a bit, but neither does it pretend to much, either. A nice little summer ale.

Unfortunately poured with virtually no head. However, very charateristic clove and vanilla aroma that was quite strong. Yellow gold and appears filitered as it's clear. Too light in the overall flavor, but what's there is nice. Mouthfeel stands out becuase of it's high feel of carbonation and a filling quality to it. Also a little short on the creaminess or smoothness. Good Hefe taste of wheat, cloves and vanilla. Mild lingering finish with a sense of dryness and a little too bitter. Comes up short on the thirst quenching qualities.

Dang clear for a Hefe, completely clear yellow. Out of the bottle, the head flattened like a flounder -- in less than 10 seconds. Definite banana "circus peanut candy" aroma. There's a lot of Weiss character here, from ester banana notes to a vague yeastiness. A little pear flavor in there as well. Very similar flavor front to back, not incredibly interesting. Acceptable beer but the appearance was way compromised by literally zero head. A little gritty in the swallow.

golden, ever so slightly hazy color. moderate head and carbonation. nice wheat-yeast aroma. pretty clean weizen taste. probably too filtered for real hefe lovers but it's incredibly smooth and easy to drink. a good summer ale that does a marvelous job of quenching your thirst, plus providing some distinct weizen qualities. the gf likes it too!

I had this beer on tap at a bar tonight. I asked the bartender what style this "Summer Ale" was and he didn't know. After tasting it, I told him it was a Weizen. Later I checked their website to confirm this. (I also had him pull me another sample of this to confirm that he didn't screw up and give me the Summit hefeweizen by mistake.)

The beer tasted pretty good. Nice yeasty, fruity smell. Nice banana and clove taste with the weizen yeast strain showing its stuff. Very drinkable. Medium body. Good Weizen.
