Taste is bready and hoppy with notes of brown bread, chestnuts, citrus and caramel with a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, smooth and well carbonated.
Overall, a terrific, smooth bitter.

Aug. 2017: Cask halfpint, as Bragdy Conwy Rampart, at The Granite City (JDW), Aberdeen Airport. Chestnut colour, small off-white head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Slightly sweet and distinctly malty flavour, notes of caramel and nuts.

An excellent bottle conditioned dark porter style beer with a sweet distinctively malty taste. The brewery advise leaving to settle and a steady pour leaving the sediment in the bottle.
The taste develops further as it approaches room temperature, with an increase in malt and drinkability. A very pleasant easy drinking beer with a good abv

Half pint on cask at 'spoons. Amber colour with a pretty good 'spoons head. The nose surprises: plum and a touch of damson. It starts with a wodd smke flavour, then turns plummy before returning to wood smoke. I like this but find it rather odd. Definitely a sipper. Maybe there's a bit of a tobacco flavour in there.

Loose creamy taupe web over bright cherry amber body tinged with brown.
Cherry cheese Danish nose.
Bright red fruit, more than a bit of nutty roast and a woody Fuggles hop bite.
Carob peanut end, mulchy linger.
Lt-med, some cling, clean and salty.
Raspberry and cocoa. Dark malts are there but, with the exception of a touch of orange peel, the EKG isn't. An oddly dark, fruity twist on the usual bitter.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass. Bottle conditioned and brewed with golding and fuggle hops.
Pours a dark amber colour with a hard to achieve head but surprising the small layer of foam stays and gives a lovely load of lacing.
Smells dark and fruity, almost like preserved fruit e.g. raisins, dark malts there too and some spice.
Tastes rich and dark, with tangy fruit and spice, some hop bitterness on the finish. Has an other quite a strong taste of alcohol and a fairly watery mouthfeel which are the main things putting me off this beer.
Overall a decent beer, with quite a bit of room for improvement.
