On tap at Dale Brothers Brewery in Upland, CA.
Billed as California Black Beer aged in bourbon barrels for 10 days.
Pours a hazy dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, butter, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that has a better bourbon presence in the smell to me.
