Met the brewer Aaron, and his assistant Brian, who told me a lot about this... the 1000th batch brewed at Beach Chalet.
It is currently (august 08) the Brewer's Special. Instead of doing a rye beer where the hops overpower the malt, they went for a light rye style.
Appearance> Golden yellow, small creamy head that dissipates quickly, some lacing. lively. Clear. Looks delicious.
Smell> Honey, apple cider, malt.
Taste> Surprisingly refreshing. Balanced. the rye push, softens and then returns. Slightly acidic hang, but not bad.
Mouf> slippery, medium body. really nice.
Drinkability> good.
