Light amber color, clean, without bubbles. One finger of beige head.
Malty smell, light touches of grassy hop, tea leaves.
Smooth taste, again a strong note of tea leaves, light maltiness, and light grassy hop.
Same notes for the aftertaste, light grassy, mixed with the maltiness.

Just dug out an old note of this beer; it turns out to be my first encounter w/ it and seems better than my second tasting at the brewery tap "Fat Cat"! Tasted by a half-pint at the Devonshire Cat, Sheffield, on 21/05/07.

A: bright amber in colour with great clarity; low in carbonation and the creamy off-white froth lasts beautifully.
S: fresh hop-fruitiness with a touch of orange prevails, sweet and intense it is; a swirl brings out more eggy and sulphurous notes behind.
T: chewy hops upfront tastes rather earthy, floral, and herbal at the same time... turning rather dry and woody, with a hint of Altbier, while a little spiciness in the chewy end of tannic hoppyness gets balanced with a surrounding aftertaste of malts.
M&D: quite bitter as well as lubricating in texture, with liquidy maltiness coming before the stimulating hops prevail. This is a soft yet quite "deep" Bitter overall.
