I had this on cask at the spoons and it was a stand up decent pint
Malty yeasty aroma
The taste being digestive biscuits leading to a bitter finish
Certainly above average
However all the taste notes that would be diminished bottled leading to a thoroughly meh beer

A 500ml bottle with a BB of June 2013. Picked up ages ago in a Sheffield supermarket. Described on the label as a hoppy pale ale, and apparently named after the song by The Doors. The image on the front reminds me of the horse chase scene from the first LOTR film.
Poured into a straight pint glass. A golden-amber hue with faint haze and light carbonation. Yields a decent head of white foam that lasts for a couple of minutes before subsiding. Aroma of grainy malt with hints of buttery diacetyl, earthy yeast and faint floral hops.
Tastes of grainy malt with a dry finish. Notes of mild caramel, grain, earthy yeast, diacetyl, a hint of floral hops and faint stewed leaves. A twinge of cardboard in the background. Well-attenuated, with a leafy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and decent body for the style. Mildly astringent, with an aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves and grain.
A rather average pale ale. The diacetyl is the biggest flaw, indicating a lack of maturation before filtering/bottling. The aroma/flavour are pretty run-of-the-mill; I was hoping for a more pronounced hop presence. Oh well. Nothing special - no need to seek it out.
