My co-worker's hubby went to the west coast and brought some of this beer back from the trip. How nice of him to honor me with a bottle, eh? This shout out is dedicated to those people out there who don't always understand the depth of our passion by taking notes whenever we pop a coldie, yet demonstrate beer advocacy by supporting us with little goodies like these. Bottoms up. This was a fairly decent brew, too. To wit:
Appearance - pale straw color with a spritzy white head. After a minute, it's a bare covering and thin collar. Some light bubble action from the bottom.
Aroma - grainy, average macro-style smell.
Taste - a light, faintly lemony start, slightly sour. Turns quickly into your ordinary beer with a wash of bubbles and mild grainy sweetness. The initial distant fruitiness never completely leaves, though, adding s nice little twist. Finishes with a pleasant, slightly leafy (hoppy?) aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - thin, crisp, not overly watery. Decent.
Drinkability - I have but one bottle, but would certainly down a few more of these. More in the 'lawnmower beer' class, it's brewed for the masses and is an adequate beer for the style, surpassing one or two major American megabrews, IMO.
