Comes in the trademark Altenmünster brown half liter bottle with the swing top of etchings in the side. The label is only around the neck. Purity law applies. Best before 4/12/04, I opened it on 2/21/04.

Pours clear pale gold, much clearer but darker than a helles Hefeweizen. The head musters about 2.5 fingers, is white, and settles surprisingly quickly. There's a bit of lace. The nose has a nice crisp clove smell. The mouth is very prickly and fairly heavy. The taste features lots of spices - clove, coriander, maybe a pinch of nutmeg - and some malt. The finish is definitely clove. There are no discernible hops. Not a bad beer, and my wife, the wheat beer lover, was quite pleased, but I'm feeling no excitement here.
