Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Bottle from mixed crate at Edeka. Pale straw color, nice one finger head. Grassy, pale malt aroma. Taste brings forth more solid maltiness, with a nice full body, a bit of tang from the yeast and hops. Nice solid export, a style rarely see in the U.S.

Brown 500ml bottle (BBD 6th Jun 2010), obtained from 'Beers of Europe' in the UK. The beer was poured into one of my Veltins stemmed tulips three times (the glass is a 0.2 litre one).
The beer looked good, a clean, clear pale golden yellow colour with carbonisation rising through the body towards the pure white head on top. Each pour reproduced this picture.
Like most beers of this style (plus lagers/pilsners etc) I struggle to find any aromas worthy of comment, this is no different. Some hay/straw smells maybe, but not a lot of anything really.
Luckily the flavours come to rescue the situation, this beer has some taste. A pleasant mix of malts and hops blended together with some fine yeast has given this a true Dort/Export umph. You can feel the alcohol content, but it joins in nicely with the ingrediants so it feels right.
I found this beer very drinkable and enjoyed it greatly. First beer I've had from this brewer, hope it isn't the last.

Appearance: Crisp clean, with a sharp head that held the whole way down
Aroma: fruity almost banana like, rather pungent
Taste: Smooth taste of malts followed by the sharpness of the hops, nice touch
Mouthfeel: Light and smooth has the nice Urtyp smoothness and the kick of an export with more alchol
Overall: A great beer that comes from right down the street. I had a good feel. This is a beer I would give non-beer enthuists and big market beer drinkers
