Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Bottle from Maruhn. Poured into weizen glass, golden, hazy, weak head, haziness increases as bottom of bottle is poured in. Aroma is bready, but the normal weizen scent is rather subdued, other citrus notes. Taste comes in kind of weak as well. Kind of disappointing.

Hazy, bright golden colored beer with a compact foamy head that fades quickly. The lack of head is quite strange looking on a Hefe Weizen. Banana from the yeast is faint and overwhelmed by sour lemony notes that mix with a bit of stale grain. Things aren't looking too good. More banana, bread, and citrus in the flavor. The flavors are light and almost watery. This one seems to be missing a little something all around. If it were a hefeweizen-light I could understand, but it's just a weak stab at a hefeweizen. There is nothing "wrong" with it, and maybe this is what they were going for, but it's not for me.
