Appearance: Dark, roasted chestnut brown body with a small, tan beige head with mediocre retention.
Smell: Wow. Ripe bananas and berries; pie crust; roasted nuts; incredibly smooth, sweet, roasted malts, burnt to perfection; squaw bread; piles of coffee grounds; and a drop of chocolate syrup.
Taste: Malty yet well-balanced, with just enough of a bitter, burnt edge to counteract the multifaceted sweetness. The fresh roasted grain flavor is big and beautiful, almost venturing into oatmeal stout territory. Base is composed of dark chocolate, raisins, and coffee with a hint of tobacco. Yeast adds a light fruity tang, and hops add a tone of subtle pine.
Mouthfeel: Satiny smooth and moderately chewable. Slightly syrupy.
Drinkability: I'm so happy. Delicious on its own, and heavenly with pears and mascarpone cheese.

Appearance: Black with a dark creamy head.
Aroma: Dark roasted malt and chocolate.
Taste: Chocolate, cocoa, carob, roasted malts.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, silky, delicious.
This is an amazing stout, that held its own in a tasting which included Samuel Smith Imperial Stout and Storm King.
