Clear 12 oz bottle with a somewhat campy snake with Pappy portrait. Between that and the naturally aged on the clear bottle, Im scared.
Aroma: First blush: Buttered hops. Diacetyl fades quickly and leaves a slightly metallic biscuit aroma.
Appearance: Painfully clear yellow glass whose frothy white head soon settled into a modest cover that leaves a small calling card of lace.
Flavor: Same metallic and biscuit notes with a good dose of citric hop. Im guessing the metallic aspect is the grainy astringency that Morris729 noted. The taste is a bit disjointed; maybe it needs more natural aging. Almost has a Japanese lager aspect, is that rice maybe?
Mouthfeel: Light bodied is generous, thin is closer to the mark but perhaps a touch harsh. Good carbonation level, firm but not fizzy. Fairly clean and dry
Overall Impression: As an adjunct lager, its not so bad. The citric aspect gives it a nice twist (ha!) almost like the lime wedge has been pre-added. Id pick this over any Macro-swill offered. A good lawnmower or summer session. To quote Monty Burns I know what I hate, and I dont hate this.
If its brewed in Minnesota, why are only Texans reviewing this one?

Pours a clear pale straw color with a foamy white head that quickly fades into a soapy lace. Nose is lightly sweet malts along with some astringent grain husks. Light in body with a relatively low level of active carbonation. Taste is quite like the nose in that it begins slightly sweet turning a bit astringent towards the end along with some notes of a lemony sourness. I suppose it would do on a hot day, but other than that, Id pass on another.

This beer poured a bright golden with a thin white head that disappeared rather quickly and left no lace on the glass
The aroma was low key and mildly earthy.
The taste began sweet but finished slightly sour. Not in your face sour but just enough that I wondered if the cleara bottle had allowed the beer to be light struck.
The mouthfeel was so average, I don't remember it and I drank this beer just an hour ago.
The beer was good and after working on building a new deck, my friend and I enjoyed conversation about the deck and the relative merits of the this beer.

The taste began sweet but finished slightly sour. Not in your face sour but just enough that I wondered if the cleara bottle had allowed the beer to be light struck.
The mouthfeel was so average, I don't remember it and I drank this beer just an hour ago.

Appearance: Clear medium golden color with a moderate snow-white head, which collapses to scattered islands of foam in less than a minute. Lively fast-rising carbonation does little to sustain the head.
Aroma: Sweet aroma of light malt with some notes of alcohol and a nutty character, the latter being a bit unusual for the style.
Taste: Begins with a distinct lemon hop note, followed by lightly toasted malts. There is a mild surge of lemon hops and light fruit notes at the finish.
Mouth feel: Smooth and quite full, very good for the style, none of the slight sting of carbonation usually noted in light lagers.
Drinkability/notes: A remarkably good light lager, one of the best examples I have ever had and the quintessential summer beer. My expectations were quite low; I expected this beer to be a Corona clone with attendant skunk aroma, due to the clear glass bottle. Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised.
The price was a bargain as well, $2.99 for a six pack at Whole Foods Market in Austin, TX. Kbub6f is quite correct in stating that this beer has made the rounds of the contract brewers. I have an old, empty Rattlesnake bottle, which states the Spoetzel Brewery in Shiner, TX, brewed it. Alas, I cannot recall what that version was like.

Apparently this beer has made the round of contract breweries. According to the beer's official website (http://www.rattlesnakebeer.com), the Rattlesnake Beer Corporate Office is in San Antonio, but it's currently being contract-brewed by Gluek in Cold Springs.
The beer is a clear, darkish gold. There's almost no head. What there is dies immediately to a white film. There's just a touch of lagerschpoonk in the nose, but mostly nuts. Flavor is nutty with tangy fruit... almost lemony. Lots of nice toasty grains in the aftertaste.
The Gluek/Cold Springs affiliation mentioned on the bottle nearly scared me off trying this one. But I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't awful. It's a decent, tangy, nutty/grainsy light lager.
