poured a crystal clear reddish copper color with slightly off-white head that left nice lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell is strong of caramel with some roasted malt also present. Inital taste is very enjoyable with with nice caramel tones and a nitty background. Subsequent tastes begin to fall short of my first impression and the taste becomes more average. Finish is also disappointing with little hops to be found. Not a bad beer, but nothing spectactular.

This was a 12 oz bottle servered in a shaker style glass (my Arrogant Bastard glass actually, which this beer was unworthy to be in.)

Beer poured a deep clear brown/mahogany with only a thin film of a head that left a minor amount of lacing.

Smell was almost absent. I practically had to stick my nose into the beer itself to smell anything. All I could detect were faint traces of malt.

Taste was not great, but not terrible. Mild malt, very faint hops, no real nuttiness to speak of. Actually, not much flavor at all in this beer. On the bland side, with a faintly disagreeable sharpness in the finish.

Even at $10.00 per 12 pack, it's just not worth the money.

Mom always said, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. So here goes: it had a nice brown color.

I can't say anything bad about the flavor because, well, there simply wasn't any. Or aroma. How can you make a beer this flavorless? Other than some sourness at the middle of the tongue, and a tad of bitterness at the back, that is pretty much it. You couldn't even use this stuff for marinade.

Verdict: a flavor black hole. Nothing got past the event horizon.

I got this beer from a variety pack that I got at the local beer shop. I the label reminded me of something from Boonville. I normally enjoy brown ales, but this was very tasteless. I am not sure if I had a bad bottle, but it was very flat tasting and there was very little head that soon disappeared with no lacing. I think it could be better, but I wont know, because I will pass next time one comes my way.
