this might be like a subsidiary third street label, their logo is also on the can, first i have seen of this one, one of those now all too common pre-prohibition style lagers, its fine beer, more flavorful than many in its field, but its not all that rustic or interesting to me, regardless of the origins of the recipe and even if its a step forward from a lot of bland and basic pale lagers. big thanks to my buddy for sharing this one, always cool to try new random lagers, ive spend much time doing just that, a favorite past time! this is slightly different on the grain side to me, almost cream ale seeming, could be some corn in here, got that middle sweetness to it but light body still, and there is a doughy aspect to both the grain and the yeast that makes it seems kind of raw, nothing richer or heavier in here at all, and the yeast has plenty of character, even kind of old worldy. its got a little body, a sort of frothy soapy feel making it creamy and expansive, and the carbonation is excellent, some metallic character at the end, but only at temperature, and somewhat clean at the end most of the way before that. a little different, not amazing, but i could pick this out of a crowd after just a single can, which is perhaps saying a little something for the fermentation profile. can handle spicy food too.

L: beautiful brilliant gold permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 3" white foam cap with fair to good retention.
S: smells of cracker, bread dough, some fruit, a trace of scrambled eggs, and a hint of corn
T: malty and fruity with hints of apple and pear, cracker, bread dough and a bitter hop accent on the finish
F: body and carbonation are medium
O: drinkable and has a lot of flavor - almost as much yeast flavor as a keller beer
