Poured a deep amber color with modest creamy tanninsh head.
Smell is notable for hints of over ripe fruit. Not overly pleasant but OK.
Taste presents with more fruitiness, some caramel and a fine bitterness at the finish.
Very easy to drink. Taste becomes better as the glass slowly empties.
Purchased for $4 a 12-pack at a six-pack store in Scranton. Pa.

Nice pour. Very deep, very dark red with a large, bright white head.

Smells... that's strange. This just came into the store earlier this week but it smells like overly strong and overly sweet malt and the harsh, unpleasant fruit esters of spoilage.

Tastes like it smells: bad, but drinkable. Huge fruit, huge syrup, with no hops whatsoever to balance them out.

Well, at least it was only 5.49 for a 12 pack. Hopefully I can trick some friends into drinking it.

EDIT: It got nastier as the beer went on, so I took off some point. Avoid.

Appears more of an amber than red in color not so much as red as an Irish red, cream off white head forms thick after a vigorous pour leaves even bands of lacing down my pint glass. Aroma has sharp malt sweetness with a touch of tart sugary cereal grains very much like a malt room or some unfermented wort beverage like GOYA's Malta product they put out in bottles, light whiff of hops in there but of course it's not too pronounced. Flavor is off with a tart character really makes some acidity feeling in my mouth come about kind of a pre puke sensation not good with some cereal wheaties like tones no real hop flavor quite the drain pour if I've ever come across one. Motuhfeel is light bodied with surprisingly lower carbonation doesn't carry the beer too well leaves a horrible aftertaste. Drinkability, I wasn't able to finish this one can off pretty bad stuff I'd much rater pour than puke.

pours out of the 12 oz. can an auburn hue with a respectable off white head that quickly settles down to a thin lace. malty aroma, some fruitiness with very little corn and vegetable notes that gluek is notorious for. flavour profile runs the typical red style of sweet malts; i.e. some caramel and toffee flavours, some light chocolate and a hint of fruitiness. there is, of course, the usual syrupy adjunct corny notes, but it actually isn't offending my senses too much. there is a twinge of alcohol in the background and an ever so slight hop bite to try to balance out the sweetness. mouthfeel is slick and smooth, and the body of this beer is surprisingly ample. the aftertaste is a bit tinny and sweet, but overall drinkability is ok considering the brewery.

this would be a good cheap ass beer to cook with. like beer can chicken or as a marinade base for other meats.

the best gluek beer i have tried. i think i bought this case for $8.

Why am I always hoping for something new from Gluek? Is it that I just hope that this company will see the light and become, as it likes to think it is already, Minnesota's great brewer. The first couple of cans from the 12pk were pretty good, then the next couple of cans sort of wained, and now I am blending it with N/A just to improve it.

I ran across a case of cans that sold for $18 and some change. I figured I was getting myself into some cheap, nasty beer. I was wrong. The beer pours a dark, ruby red with a generous tan head. The smell is very bready. The taste is sweet and malty with decent hop presence. There is a slight metallic taste, but the fruity notes tend to overpower the imperfection. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky, but the carbonation is perfect. This beer is very drinkable and a steal for the price.

Really a nice looking beer...clean clear amber/brown..

It's got that trademark "Glueks" aroma...can't quite put my finger on it...sweet candy like but with a tich of spoiled eggs tossed in....

Body is medium...easier drinking than the honey bock though...Carbonation is about right...

Sweet, but not sticky....more of a sweet fruit flavor....Tasty Taste mentioned strawberry and I can see that...

Last night I kicked back 3 of these after work and was relatively impressed....today it is not tasting as good but it's still not bad...considering it is priced cheaper (9.99 a case) than just about any beer you can buy (macro or non-macro) I can find a spot for some of this from time to time...To me this is a perfect beer to drink with a medium range cigar....

New apparently from Cold Spring, the sister beer to Honey Bock. $5.99 for 12 cans.

Appearance: More medium brown than red, big white head and some lacing.

Smell: Sweet and caramely, like fruit, grain and honey. The grain has a slight funky rotten smell to it.

Taste: Not the worst I have had, sweet, with that same odd graininess making a reappearance. A little light fruit (strawberry), but all in all this is a bland beer.

Appearance: Good value, not the most fulfilling thing I have ever tried.
