1.92/5  rDev -14.7%
look: 2.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 1.5 | feel: 2.5 | overall: 1

Appearance: light copper, hazy, 1/2 inch stand of off-white head that depletes to a thin layer and then to nothing soon after

Aroma: some buttery maltiness (diacetyl bomb) laced with some cognac-like fruitiness, twinge of hops, and a lactic sour note; some interesting aromas but nothing that can be pegged as honey; this beer's best attribute without a doubt

Flavor: very tangy like a green apple (perhaps lactic infection?... is that why this beer was selling for $1.82?), some caramel under the tang, reminiscent of a strong Scottish ale... gone bad, gets more and more sour with every sip

Mouthfeel: full body, low carbonation, acidic

Drinkability: poor, kept trying to convince myself that it wasn't bad but was unsuccessful, had to dump the last quarter of the 22 oz. bottle, very disappointing

The pour an obscure black cherry color, the head is creamy, light beige in color, modest in size, the lace in thin sheets to coat the glass. Nose is malt, hints of honey, clean and fresh. Front is malt, a tad sweet, the top quite skimpy, the finish is abusively acidic, pertinently hopped, dry aftertaste, cloyingly sweet to the very end. Even the 8.2% abv can't save this beer, to sweet, to thin, poor to average at best. Does not make my current top 1000 beer master list

Light brown color, medium head. Light malts, slightly hoppy. Cream ale with natural honey flavor. Mild taste, very slight maltyness, some honey sweetness. Complex full flavor. Nice mouthfeel. Smooth taste. No alcohol bite, despite 8.2 %. Finish is smooth, slightly malty and sweet. By far the best of the quake ales.

Very sweet smell. Almost like a malt liquor. (Olde English like). Golden hues. Very, very sweet taste. Actually, it is cloying. Pretty overbearing. Seems viscous. Wouldn't buy this one again.
