This beer poured out as a decent looking amber red color with a thin white head on top. The smell of grains and malts were all I could really pick up on this one. The taste of the beer is rather dull in my opinion. I wasn't able to get too much from it, just some light semi sweet grain flavors. The mouthfeel was light and thin, weak carbonation too. Overall not really something I'm looking forward to having again.

I don't know why, but I keep giving Gluek/Cold Spring a chance. I guess it is because I drive by the place one a week, or maybe it's that it has been able to hang on, along with Schell's.
For $4.95/6pk it was worth a try. I am captivated by the whole Red River Trail ox cart routine, so why did I think I was going to hear a squeaky ox cart go by when I opened the bottle. Read the other reviews, I have nothing really to add.

Meh, Cold Spring does not impress me.
Appearance is orangey red, with no head or lacing.
Smell and taste are very metallicy, it overpowers the sweet malt. Somewhere here with some more malt and just a touch of hops, we may have a halfway decent beer. Really have to get rid of the metallic taste though.
Mouthfeel is weak and watery.
Drinkability- its ok, just not really on par for the style.

Color was expected, a rather clear red/amber. I poured it pretty aggressively to get a modest head that had some decent lace and retention.
Nose was pretty ordinary, malt dominant with hints of the "cold spring" sweetness, maybe cocoa, dark sugars, and banana.
Flavor is toasty bordering on roasty malts, a bit of sour fruit, and dark sugar. The body is on the light side, carbonation is mellow, pretty ordinary.
Not a bad beer, definitely not offensive. There's not too much to it, but I'd drink another. A good one for someone who is afraid to try new things.

Poured into a pint class.
No head, no retention, no lace. Color is a clear amber/brown.
Smell is of a little honey, carmel, and is very sweet.
Taste is like a lager, maybe a bock, nothing to special. Some malts. Carmel again. Very bland.
Mouthfeel is crisp like a macro lager. Leaves a slight sticky aftertaste. Low carbonation.
Overall, I would never buy this beer, but luckily I got this one from a friend. It just doesn't seem to be a good representation of the style.

Pours with a light head into a mug with a mahogany tint to it when held in the light. Very light head with erratic lacing that dissipates fairly quickly.
Taste is average, possibly mediocre. Leaves me with a feeling of 'bricks' and 'red soil', realistically it's somewhat of a toffee/malt taste that doesn't become too prominent in any way.
Mouthfeel is light, as expected, and drinkability is around the same.
Overall, Cold Spring has made better. I won't say this is a bad beer, but it's not very recommended.

pours out a dark auburn colour, with an off white rocky head, reducing quickly to some sticky lace. sweet malt aroma, a bit of fruitiness, and that's about it. flavour leans heavily on the sweet maltiness...bits of caramel, toffee, cocoa and an underlying chalkiness. a good dose of hop bitterness balances things out. tastes ok. lighter in the body with a smooth mouthfeel. easily drinkable and somewhat pleasant.
my first beer out of a ten pack sampler with five different brews from the new line of craft ales from the newly named Cold Spring Brewery.
this one was good, if not simple and straightforward. nothing to complain about.
