This was contract brewed at the Cold Springs Brewery for the Reno Brewing Company in the mid 90s. Was distributed to 41 states at one point in time. Label had 3 wolves on it.
Poured a golden color that didn't offer a lot of clarity. 1/3" white head. The aroma had a light fruitiness to it and lacked much of anything in the way of hopping, certainly not any dry hopping.
Taste proceeded in a relatively bland way. Mild fruitiness still there, a minority of the grain bill being wheat was great for head retention, but didn't really do much beyond that. IBU level was probably around 25. Minimal hopping. Kind of like the opposite of Gumballhead if you will.
This was a relative twist on going after the BMC market with a local university mascot reference (Nevada Wolfpack). I liked the beer in the 90s when I was in college, but I also knew it didn't compare with the good stuff I was drinking at the time either (Sierra Nevada, Deschutes, Bert Grant's, Stone). Review #4300.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
