Serving: 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Dark coppery color with a fluffy, light tan head, head dissipates slowly into a thick, sticky lace.
Smell: V. nice, slightly spicy aroma.
Taste: Revised, see below. Still tasted good, but I'm not sure the aftereffects were worth it.
Mouthfeel: Nice and smooth, with very light carbonation.
Drinkability: Revised, see below.
Misc notes: My nearest liquor store had this on sale as part of a sampler 12-pack, with four different beers from this brewery (three bottles per style). In retrospect, this should have been a warning sign.
Retrospectively, I have to knock some points off and generally re-rate because I threw up a few hours after drinking it. Now you might be laughing at the lightweight, but there was something in that bottle that didn't sit well in my stomach at all, and it wasn't the alcohol. I can handle that.

Orange appearance, head is 1/4 inch of larger-bubbled foam with not a lot of persistance. Smell is decent, a sense of spiciness. Flavor has little toast or interest to it, there's a barest sense of sharp spice, but mostly just a sweet bread statement. Light mouthfeel. Hops are subdued. Not worth it, this beer is usually packed in a variety pack of mediocre attempts at German style brews along with three bottles of the weird-tasting "Stite" (which I'm not sure what I'm going to do with)...

A mild American attempt at a marzen-style beer. The beer pours reddish amber with very letter head or carbonation. The aroma is domestic malt "tang" with some hops. The taste has shades of toasted malt, with medium hop bitterness. This is just an average beer.
