Vintage 2007. Cellared for about one and a half years.
A: Golden yellow, small white head.
S: Mostly dough and saffron. Perhaps some minimal fruity notes, caramel and bready malts. The smell is really unpleasant.
T: This is almost not drinkable, a horrible taste. Stale dough and saffron mixed with and off-centered spiciness dominate and this makes of for an awful taste. Again, some sweet fruity notes and a very gentle taste of smoke is present, but they are completely overshadowed by the awful taste of dough and saffron. The finish is slightly bitter and somewhat malty.
M: Medium body, somewhat sticky mouthfeel.
D: I've heard that this one was bad when it was fresh, and I can tell you that it has not aged with dignity. By far one of the worst beers I've tasted lately. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Appearance: Nils Oscar Trippel pours a tangerine colour along with rich carbonation consisting of tiny, tiny bubbles and a small, small head; which however, is quite persistent (it actually increases greatly under the duration circa 3 minutes).
Smell: Sweet and fresh with a certain touch of yeast to it -- classic Tripel.
Taste: Somewhat fruity at first, then for the most part a gentle yeasti- and bitterness along with a metallic sour, galvanic (the one you get from putting a 9-volt battery to your tounge) aftertaste to it.
Mouthfeel: Light-to-medium full and smooth.
Drinkability: A nice try -- by the otherwise so great Nils Oscar Company -- which none the less fails to convince me all the way as a full-blown trippel and mostly so because of the disappointing aftertaste.

After reading alot of negative reviews of this beer, i decided to give it a go myself.
A: Golden with a minimal head. Looks almost like a lager :)
S: Apples, caramel, some spice that i can't pin down.
T: Smoke, herbs, apples, wood + a few other artificial spices.
M: Thick and sweet liquid with medium carbonation.
This beer just feels....wrong. Kind of like a failed experiment. Not entirely bad but very strange and unbalanced.

The colour is deep gold; the liquid is clear. The low head quickly disappears, leaving no lacing or traces.
The smell is clean and very fruity with lots of apples. Some hints of caramel and cinnamon.
The taste is quite bitter. Lots of sweet apples and come chemical-spicy notes. Wax, cinnamon, minerals, basilica. The aftertaste is bitter with some notes of alcohol and rye bread. The finish is a little sweet.
The carbonation is medium strong. The liquid is thick like cordial it leaves sweet sticky sugar on my lips.
I dont grasp this one. Odd fruity and bitter notes that wont work together. I think it is too clean, too.
