The colour is pale warm brown; the large head is airy and beige. No lacing.

The smell is sweet and quite roasted with mellow hoppy notes of exotic fruits, lots of nuts, quite a lot of bitter flavours, toffee, fruit drops and ginger snaps. The smell is more Christmas than Easter. It is very elegant.

The taste is very malty with nutty flavours, but there are also fine bitter notes in the background. Hints of exotic fruits and spices, grilled meat with gravy and phenol-hints of perfume and soap. Medium body. The long aftertaste got hoppy flavours of exotic fruits and lemon peels. There is a good measure of malty, nutty flavours with some sweetness.

The carbonation is medium strong with small mild bubbles. The liquid is smooth and a little sticky.

A very pleasant beer. Clean and complex at the same time.

This beer comes in a 33 cl brown long-necked bottle. Label is in yellow and light purple with a picture of Nils Oscar himself (as always).

A: The pour is dark redish. The head is medium large, thick/creamy and off-white. Slow dissipation leaves a healthy dose of lacings.

S: Roasted sweet malt, dark dried fruits (and cherries). Some chocolate and some coffee.

T: Sweet roasted malt with a vanilla-vibe. Dark dried fruits, syrup, coffee and chocolate. American hops, both floral and great bitter ones.

M: Aftertaste lasts a for a long bitter time. Body is full and carbonation is mild.

D: A really nice beer. The boys at Nils Oscar has done it again! Kind of exciting to drink an English Strong Ale with such an American feel.

A clear dark amber almost brown ale, with a beige compact head that leaves lots of lacing.

The smell is dominated with roasted tones, sweet dark roasted coffee and chocolate. Malty tones from dark bread and a sweet base with dried fruits.

The taste is rather sweet, caramel and dark syrup. The malt is noted as dark sweet bread, complemented with distinct coffee aroma and a burnt short bitter tone.

Rather low carbonation, a fresh feeling, good body.

A very well brewed beer, but possibly a bit too sweet. But these seasonal beers often are.
