Brewed with Japanese/US Sorachi hops.
According to the brewer, this is a "American belgo style ale".
Spiced with coriander and juniper berries.

This is a nice saison. Leans much more towards the earthy side with a citrus edge on it. Feel is pretty smooth and it's fairly easy to drink, despite being hearty and rustic. A good execution of the style. I can definitely see how this is an emulation of American interpretations of a Belgian style. (it's all the deep tones) And it's a nice looking bottle too.

The colour is deep gold-amber (22 EBC), the liquid is clear although there are some very small particles floating around. The two finger off-white head slowly sinks down leaving some lacing.
The smell is sweet with fruity-estery flavours. Fine clean bitter flavours, pineapples, lemons and mature apples. Some dough and mild spices.
The sweetness in the taste is balanced by a mild fruity bitterness. Estery yeast with some hints of dough and French loaf. Some wheat sourness and citric flavours: Orange peel, lime, lemon. Distinct notes of butter. The body is medium. The aftertaste reminds a bit of Sprite/7Up: Sweet with a refreshing sourness and lots of citric flavours. The finish is balanced with citric notes and a mellow sweetness.
The carbonation is medium strong; the bubbles very small. The liquid is smooth.
I like the blend of Belgian flavours and fruity Sorashi hops. However, I didn’t really get the buttery flavours.

The beer is clear copper toned, a small offwhite head, some lacing, good curtains.
Fresh fruity, pears, apples, grape-fruit, yeast.
Upfront sweet, dextrose, some new bread aromas, then the fruit basket, peaches, apricots, rhubarbs, some lemon peel.
Medium carbonation, tiny bubbles, a medium body, smooth and refreshing.
A nice medium beer, goes well with fish.

.5l glass from the tap at Glenfiddich Warehouse #68.
This a deep gold pour but totally clear, interestingly so. Four fingers of tope head, lasting several minutes. Solid retention and lacing...The aroma is super sweet, way to sweet without being a fruit beer. Sweet is like high fructose corn syrup, hints of lemon, coriander and hops on the end. The taste is also way to sweet, cannot drink this very easily or quickly. Just get sweetness with a light hop finish.
This was a servers recommendation and not a great one. Its way to sweet and just boring, nothing worth getting here.

Pours a hazy amber with a creamy gentle head, that leaves some spotted lacing.
Smells of belgian yeast, with almond paste, a little walnut, green grapes and apples. And it has some distinct citrusy notes, lemon, almost lime, which I guess is the Sorachi Ace.
Starts off with a dry spiciness, maybe white pepper and thyme? continues on with the crisp saison-yeastiness, that adds another kind of spiceiness, that is really hard to put your finger on...the hops are in thee background all along, with a citrus freshness, lightly bitter at the end, slightly pungent.
Mouthfeel is okay, nothing special really, light carbonation, mid bodied, a little too thick for the style.

This beer comes in a 75 cl long-necked brown bottle. Label is brown with white writing. A picture of Nils Oscar himself.
A: Pours hazy copper/amber. The head is compact white and medium large. Slow dissipation leaves great lacings.
S: Wheat and belgian yeast. Spicey and very fruity - oranges, bananas and apples. Some sweetness to it.
T: Fruity; oranges, lemon, apples, pineapple and bananas. Sweet wheat and malt. A bit bitter. Very spicy - among other things there's pepper.
M: Long, nicely balanced aftertaste with both sweetness and bitterness. Body is light to medium and carbonation is medium.
D: A very nice and very spicy beer. Another great beer from Nils Oscar. This one, you must try!
